Talaria (talaria) (πτηνοπέδιλος) or The Winged Sandals of Hermes were winged sandals in Greek mythology.
These shoes were made by Hephaestus (Hḗphaistos) (Ἥφαιστος).
Also, sandals with wings were symbol of Hermes (Ἑρμῆς).
The Nymphs (nymphae) (νύμφαι) had Talaria. Then Perseus (Perseús) (Περσεύς) took winged sandals. In these shoes the hero fought the Gorgon Medusa (Médousa) (Γοργώνες) (Μέδουσα) and saved Andromeda (Androméda) (Andromédē) (Ἀνδρομέδα).
