Benjamin Franklin was born on January 17, 1706, in Boston, Massachusetts. His parents were Josiah Franklin and Abiah Folder.
When Ben was twelve years old, he started working. Three years later his brother James founded a newpaper publishing company, The New-England Courant.
Franklin moved to Philadelphia, Pennylvania. He worked in different printer shops. Benjamin Franklin wanted the United States of America to be independent.
Also, he was interested in literature, science, inventions. Franklin became president of Pennsylvania. His portrait is drawn on a hundred dollar bill.
Benjamin Franklin married Deborah Read. They had three children.
Frankin died on April 17, 1790, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
