Her mother died and Mary was raised by her father.

Mary Shelley was an English writer. She wrote her famous Gothic novel Frankenstein; or, The Modern Prometheus (1818).

Mary Shelley had spouse and children.

She died on February 1, 1851, in London, England.

Fantasy.

Fantasy is an unusual genre of literature. Science fiction and fairy tale are included in it. Also, fantasy is used in other types of arts such as: movies, cartoons, paintings.

People and magical creatures are main characters in fantasy. They can talk to each other. Good and bad are important for plot of this genre.

Characters from folklore and mythology often appear in fantasy books. Fairies, dwarves, unicorns, mermaids, dragons, and etc. Sometimes this literary genre contains horror elements.

Utopian ans dystopian fiction are popular among writers. Somebody thinks about an "ideal world in the future". Or conversely discribes bad parts of the world. For example, 1984 by George Orwell.

Famous genre fantasy used in games, by modern artists, and designers.

Horror fiction.

Horror fiction is one of the most popular genres in literature. This genre appeared just in XVIII century. After that, it began to grow fast. At the beginning of XIX century, a famous novel in the style of horror was written: Frankenstein; or, The Modern Prometheus by Mary Shelley.

In these books, you can find the description of the terrible. However, not all of them end badly. Such novels are made into films. Also this genre is studied in schools by students.

Characters from fairy tales often appear in horror fiction, such as ghosts and vampires.

These literature works are drawn beautifully and have fantastic pictures.
