Terpsichore.

Terpsichore (Τερψιχόρη) was one of the Muses (Μοῦσαι) (Moûsai) (Μούσες) (Múses) in Greek myths and legends. She was a goddess of dance and chorus in Ancient Greece. Her name means "of relating to dance.

Zeus and Mnemosyne (Μνημοσύνη) were Terpsichore's parents.

Lyre was her symbol.

Terpsichore had several siblings and consorts.

Linus (Λῖνος) (Linos), Biston (Βίστων), and Parthenope (Παρθενόπη) were her children.

Tales from childhood: Useful hobby.

"I have a hobby," the lady in red said.

"I want to know about it," Timothy said.

"Ballroom dances are my favorite deal!" she said with a smile.

Lady in red was talented in dances. She liked it.

Timothy admired beautiful moving. 

Sophie and Natalie wanted to try ballroom dancing, too, because it was useful for health.

Tales from childhood: Timothy and his friends.

"It was the best birthday in my life!" Timothy thought.

Raymond, Maria, Angela, Sophie, and Mrs. Anne were his guests. Timothy's ex-wife didn't visit him on this party. He almost forgot about this woman.

They ate holiday supper and birthday cake.

Also, Timothy visited dance party. He liked this event.

"You're very kind and handsome young man." Mrs. Anne said.

Now, Timothy had just two small scars on his face. People didn't pay attention for them. He had self-confidence.

On his birthday he visited party and danced there. Timothy walked on the street, other people didn't know about his story.

Tales from childhood: Beth's doubts.

It was a Saturday evening. Mr. Theodor and Johnny set in the living room. Afterwards, boy remembered about his new magazine. Johnny liked reading it because he had a toy train. This magazine wrote about them.

Beth suddenly appeared in the living room. Her face was uncertain. She asked Mr. Theodor about medical college. Beth had several doubts.

Father said that she could become an artist or ballroom dancer. Because the girl liked drawing and visited ballroom classes during for two years.

At the end Mr. Theodor said that 'one doesn't always interfere with the other.' It's very important.

Daughter thought about it. She didn't give up her dream.

Theatre.

Theatre is a type of performance art. Actors and actresses must pla their characters.

This type of art appeared in Ancient Greece. Drama, comedy, and tragedy came from theatre.

People can see actors on the scene. Literary works often play in the theatre. Puppets are sometimes used there.

Future actors study to dancing, singing, playing, express emotions, play on the musical instruments, and etc. Costumes and make-up are important part of the theatre. Because people must see and feel the reality of what is happening.

Literature. Part ten.

                   The Red Shoes by Hans Christian Andersen.

Karen was a poor girl. She was so poor that she walked barefoot in summer. But one day the old woman made the red shoes for Karen.

Girl wore new shoes on the day of the funeral of her mother. Although the red color was very bright for this event.

Some time after in the coach drove the old lady. She felt sorry for Karen and took her. Girl has decided that all this is because she wore new shoes. But the old lady had her own opinion about shoes. She asked to burned them.

So Karen began to live with the old lady. Girl lived with her well. Karen grew up and needed new shoes. The shoemaker sold beautiful bright red shoes for girl. But the old lady didn't know about color of shoes.

Girl went to the church with the red shoes. The old lady didn't approve of this. All people looked at new red shoes. Karen wore them again in the church.

The old lady had poor eyesight. Then she learned about the antics of Karen. The girl doesn't listen to the old lady.

One day the old lady fell seriously ill. Girl didn't take care of her. Karen wore the red shoes and went to dance at the ball.

Suddenly her legs carried girl to the forest. Karen realized that she couldn't take off the red shoes. At night when she danced to the cemetery. In the doors of church Karen saw the angel. He said that she will dance and dance.

In the morning Karen saw coffin with body of the old lady. After she asked the executioner to cut off her legs with the red shoes. He did it. Girl repented of her sin.

She started to live with the family priest. At last Karen saw the angel again and her soul flew to the sky.
