Humanism is a philosophical concept that places special value on human life. And everything else should make life more comfortable.

At different times, there were different forms of humanism in philosophy. During the Renaissance, a new ideal of man emerged.

Humanism is closely related to ethics.

Great people: Erasmus.

 Desiderius Erasmus Roterodamus was known as a Dutch philosopher. He was born on October 28, 1469, in the Netherlands.

He was interested in humanism. Erasmus studied in colleges and universities. His era was Renaissance Philosophy or XVI century philosophy.

Erasmus wrote many books. In Praise of Folly (Stultitiae Laus or Moriae Encomium). This book was written in 1509. On Civility in Children (De civilitate morum puerilium) (1530). Handbook of a Christian Knigh (Enchiridion militis Christiani) (1501). In these books there are satire and philosophy. He wrote his books in Latin.

English philosopher Sir Thomas More shared the same era with Erasmus Roterodamus.

Erasmus died on July 12, 1536, in Basel, Old Swiss Confederacy.

Renaissance.

The Renaissance was one of the beautiful periods in our history. If in the Middle Ages, people lived to get "another life", in a new historical period, people became richer and paid attention to the worls around them.

In that time in Europe, arts were popular. Saints appeared on the pictures. Leonardo da Vinci-an Italian artist and scientist drew the most famous pictures, like Mona Lisa in 1517. Gioconda still has many mysteries. Also he drew God and saints in his pictures. These work were studied, too.

Amother Italian painter Michelangelo made a famous sculpture The Statue of David in 1504. This work is still one of the most famous statues.

In the Renaissance, people changed their philosophy views. Humanism was a new type of philosophy. Human personality was the subject for study.

Scientists began to study space and planets, too. They made a new discoveries. But church didn't support them.

Renaissance was the age of culture and prosperity.
