Literature. Part ninety three.

                                                          "The Happy Prince" by Oscar Wilde.

Once upon a time there was a statue covered in gold and jewels. It was situated in the city.

The statue told the Swallow that he saw poor people and felt sorry for them. He was sad about this. Then the Happy Prince asked the bird to bring them his precious details.

The Swallow did it.

At the end, the entire statue is melted down except for the lead heart of the Prince. Then the heart and the dead Swallow were thrown away.

Also, the Swallow and the Happy Prince went to Paradise.

Classic.

Classic is a worth style. There are different thigs which appeared many, many years ago. Or even hundreds or thousands years ago! But at the same time it's still clear and relevant.

Fashion changes with time, only the classic remains.

There are many examples of classics in art. Some paintings and books are studied at different times.

Also, the classic influence the culture.

Telesphorus.

Telesphorus (Τελεσφόρος) means "accomplisher". He was a god of convalescence in Greek religion. Also, he was a dwarf. Telesphorus wore a cap on his head.

His father Asclepius was a god of medicine in Ancient Greece. Hygieia, goddess of health, was his sister. Telesphorus accompanied her.

He had his own temple in Anatolia. There are many paintings and statues about this god.

Helios.

Helios was the god of the Sun in Ancient Greece. His parents were Hyperion and Theia. Also, he had siblings: Selene and Eos.

He had his own symbols, such as: horse, sunflower, and chariot. Helios met with many different characters of mythology: Zeus, Persephone, Odysseus, Hades, and others.

The god of the Sun had several spouses and children.

Colossus of Rhodes, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, was a statue of Helios.

Colossus of Rhodes.

The statue of the Ancient Greek god of the sun Helias, was on the Greek island of Rhodes. This island was situated in the Aegean Sea.

Sculptor Chares of Lindos started building this work in 292 B.C. for a period of twelve years. Statue was made from iron, clay, and bronze. Its height was about 36 metres (100 feet). Colossus of Rhodes appeared in 20 B.C.

But fifty four years later, in 226 B.C., earthquake occured on the island. So, sixth Wonder of the Ancient World was damaged.
