Victor-Marie Hugo was a French writer. He was born on February 26, 1802, in France.


Hugo's genre was novel. Victor Hugo's movement was Romanticism.

His famous works: Les Misérables (1862), The Hunchback of Notre-Dame (1831), Ruy Blas (1839).



Victor Hugo married and had five children.

He died on May 22, 1885, in France.

Charles Perrault was born on January 12, 1628, in Paris, France.


He became a writer. Perrault wrote many famous fairy tales, such as: “Cinderella”, or “The Little Glass Slipper”, “Puss in boots”, “Bluebeard”, and etc.


Charles Perrault died on May 16, 1703, in Paris, France.

Great people: Alexandre Dumas (son).

 Alexandre Dumas fils was born on July 27, 1824, in Paris, France. His parents were Alexandre Dumas père and Marie-Laure-Catherine Labay.

Dumas wrote romantic and historical novels. He created his works during the Romanticism period.

Alexandre Dumas wrote: The Lady with the Camellias (1852). Also, he had an award Legion of Honour (1894).

He was married and had children.

Dumas died on November 27, 1895, Marly-le-Roi, Yvelines, France.

Great people: Alexandre Dumas (father).

 Dumas Davy de la Pailleterie or Alexandre Dumas père was a French writer. He was born on July 24, 1802, in France.



Alexandre Dumas père wrote historical fiction books. His famous novels were published in different years. The Three Musketeers (1844), The Count of Monte Cristo (1844), Twenty Years After (1845), The Vicomte of Bragelonne: Ten Years Later (1847-1850) became popular.



These works were translated to many languages. Also, there are different movies based on these novels.

Alexandre Dumas had a son named Alexandre Dumas (Alexandre Dumas fils), too.

Alexandre Dumas père died on December 5, 1870, in France.

Great people: Antoine de Saint-Exupery.

 Antoine Marie Jean-Baptiste Roger vicomte de Saint-Exupery was born on June 29, 1900 in Lyon, France. He was a son of Jean de Saint-Exupery and Marie de Fonscolombe. Antoine de Saint-Exupery had a brother and sisters.

Saint-Exupery became an aviator. He had an education and visited different countries.

Antoine de Saint-Exupery wrote his famous book The Little Prince (1943). This novel became popular in children's literature and was translated to many languages.

He married Consuelo Suncin de Sandoval in 1931.

Saint-Exupery had awards for his works.

He disappeared on July 31, 1944 in Marseille, France.

Naive art.

This type art is a part of primitivism. Naive art includes a lot of crafts, such as: architecture, sculptures, painting.

Primitivism appeared in XVIII century. There are graphics, applied arts, amateur performances in it.

Also, many works in naive art were created by self-taught artists.

In France this type of art appeared at the beginning of XX century. The Repast of the Lion (1907) by Henri Rousseau, is a painting of naive art.

This art exists in many countries.

Luxembourg is a small country in Europe. It borders with Belgium, Germany, and France. Country has three official languages: German, French, and Luxembourgish.

French Revolution.

French Revolution was an important period for France since May 5, 1789 to November 9, 1799.

Many things changed in this country.
