Christopher Columbus.

(This is essay by my brother).

Christopher Columbus was an Italian explorer famous for discovering America. He was born on October 30, 1450 in Genoa, Republic of Genoa (now part if Italy).

He wanted to sail for India, but not in the direct route. Columbus believed that Earth was round and wanted to get to India from the other side. Portuguese government declined Columbus' request to fund this expedition, but the nation of Crown of Castile granted it.

So, on August 3, 1492, Christopher Columbus departed to India with three ships: Santa Maria, Pinta, and Nina. On October 12, 1492, Columbus landed on what he at first thought was India, that's why the natives are called Indians. But later Columbus realised that he discovered the New World. He returned to Spain on March 15, 1493, and the word about discovery of the New World spread rapidly.

Christopher Columbus went on three more voyages to America, where he found new cities, new people, new goals. But, on his last expedition, his ship wrecked near Jamaica. He was stranded for a year until the rescue and retarned to Spain seriously ill on November 7, 1504. He died from his illness on May 20, 1506, at the age of 54.

Our spare time.

Sometimes we can express ourselves through different art forms. For example, pictures, short stories, handmade things, and even culinary. All of them have something to do with arts.

When we make something by our hands, we feel useful for other people. After they work, people have a lot of positive energy in their souls.

If we will know that we add to food, it helps to take care of our own health.

If you will do work, you can bring benefits.

“Remember, if you ever need a helping hand, it's at the end of your arm, as you get older, remember you have another hand: The first is to help yourself, the second is to help others.”

“I love people who make me laugh. I honestly think it's the thing I like most, to laugh. It cures a multitude of ills. It's probably the most important thing in a person.”

“I have to be alone very often. I'd be quite happy if I spent Saturday night to Monday morning alone in my apartment. That's how I refuel.”

“People, even more than things, have to be restored, renewed, revived, reclaimed, and redeemed; never throw out anyone.”

“Nothing is impossible. The word itself says, 'I'm possible'!”

“The most important thing is to enjoy your life—to be happy—it's all that matters.”

Literature. Part eighteen.

The Little Prince by Antoine de Saint-Exupery.

This book is very popular in the world. Novella tells about a boy, who live on the planet by himself.

Pilot has stopped in the Sahara desert and met the strange boy. He told about his adventures on Earth.

The fairy tale often tells about the relationship of children and adults.

The little prince told about his own planet in the space. On that place boy has one rose and three volcanoes. The main character travelled too other planets. He met a lot of adults there.

Pictures in the book are popular, too. This novella was translated on many languages.

There are many plays and cartoons about these book.

Some phrases and quotes from this classic work are very famous for us.
