Literature. Part hundred thirty one.

                                                    "The Three Spinners" by the Brothers Grimm.

Once upon a time there was a lazy girl. She didn't want to spin. That's why her mother scolded her for it.

The Queen heard this and the girl's mother lied that her daughter was spinning too much.

Then the Queen decided that if this girl spins well, she could marry her son.

In the castle, she didn't know what to do; then the girl me three ugly spinners. They did all the work for her.

When the girl invited them to her wedding, the prince asked why the women were ugly. They answered that it was because they were spinning. He then forbade his wife.

Literature. Part hundred twenty nine.

                                      "One-Eye, Two-Eyes, and Three-Eyes" by the Brothers Grimm.

Once upon a time there was a woman. She had three daughters: the eldest had the only eye, the middle had two eyes like normal people, and the youngest had three eyes.

The mother and sisters couldn't accept Two-Eyes because she was very simple. Then, with the help of magic, she was able to take care of herself.

Having suffered betrayal by her family, the character met a young knight and married him. At the end of the tale, Two-Eyes forgave One-Eye, and Three-Eyes.

                                                   "The Mouse, the Bird, and the Sausage" by the Brothers Grimm.

Once upon a time there were The Mouse, the Bird, and the Sausage. They lived together.

But other birds thought that the Bird did many works. It was very fun for them.

Then, when the characters were performing another responsibilities they all died.

                              “Hurleburlebutz” by the Brothers Grimm.

Once upon a time a king was in a forest. He met a white dwarf there. The dwarf asked for king’s youngest daughter.

The family didn’t want to give up their daughter, but then the fox took the right girl.

The fox turned into a white dwarf and they began to live together.

Then the dwarf turned into a prince.

                                               “The Pack of Ragamuffins” by the Brothers Grimm.

Once upon a time the rooster and the hen made a carriage from nut shell.

On the way they met the duck. After they ate her egg.

Also, they met pin and needle. All went to the hotel for the night. The owner let them in.

There the rooster laid egg-shell to bake. Also, he laid pin and needle.

At the morning the owner injured with a pin and needle. Egg-shell got into his eyes.

Literature. Part eighty eight.

                                      "The Magic Porridge Pot" by the Brothers Grimm.

Once upon a time there was a girl. She lived with her mother in a town.

When the girl went in the forest, she met an old woman.

This old woman gave the girl a magic pot.

When the phrase 'Pot cook!' was spoken the sweet porridge appeared. When the phrase 'Pot stop!' was spoken porridge wasn't getting cooked. 

At home, the girl said, 'Pot cook!', so the sweet porridge was in the dish.

One day the girl went to her friends. The mother wanted to eat, she said 'Pot cook!', but the mother didn't know how to stop the pot.

The sweet porridge was all around in the house, on the road, in the neighborhood houses.

Then the girl returned home she said, 'Pot stop!'.

The pot stopped the process, but people ate a lot of porridge.

Literature. Part eighty six.

                                       "The Twelve Brothers" by the Brothers Grimm.

Once upon a time there were a husband and wife, who were a king and Queen. They had twelve sons.

The king decided if his wife gives birth to a daughter, then all the boys must die.

The queen told the youngest son Benjamin, that he and his brothers would go to the forest to live.

Then the boys had a sister and they stayed to live in the forest.

Several years later the girl knew about her twelve brothers. Mother said that she didn't know where they were.

The sister found her brothers' house in the forest. Everyone was happy with this meeting.

Once a sister picked twelve lilies in the garden, and her twelve brothers turned into twelve ravens.

To save her brothers, the sister didn't say a word or laugh for seven years.

During this time, she married the king. His stepmother wanted to kill her. But the brothers saved their sister.

                                                “Cat and Mouse in Partnership” by the Brothers Grimm.

Once upon a time there were cat and mouse. The animals were friends.

The cat and the mouse prepared a pot with fat for winter.

Suddenly the cat said that her cousin brought a son, and asked her to be a godmother. The mouse stayed at home.

At this time, the cat went to lick the fat in the pot.

The cat went like this two more times, until the fat in the pot ran out.

She said that her cousin’s children’s names are: “Top-off”, “Half-done”, and “All-gone”.

When winter came, the cat and the mouse went for a pot of fat.

The mouse realized that the cat had eaten all fat in the pot.

The cat immediately ate the mouse.

Literature. Part seventy nine.

                                     “Rumpelstiltskin” by the Brothers Grimm.

Once upon a time there was a miller. He was a poor man. Miller had a daughter. She was beautiful girl.

Miller said to the king that his daughter can spin straw into gold.

The next night, the miller’s daughter was to turn the straw into gold in the castle. She couldn’t do it.

Suddenly the girl saw a creature who looked like an imp in the room. He took the necklace from her and spun gold out of straw.

The king asked miller’s daughter once more to make gold out of straw during the night. This time the creature took the ring from her.

For the third time, the king asked the girl to spin gold from straw and decided to marry her.

The creature did all and asked for her future child.

When the queen gave birth to a child, she didn’t want to give it up. Then the creature offered to guess his name within three days.

The Queen sent messengers to find out his name. One of them said his name was Rumpelstiltskin.

The creature was so evil when the queen called his name that he tore himself up in anger.

                                           "The Wolf and the Seven Young Kids" by the Brothers Grimm.

Once upon a time there was a goat. She had seven kids.

One day she went to the forest for some food. The goat warned her kids about wolf. She said that he has black paws and rough voice.

The wolf went to their house. But little kids saw his paws.

So, the wolf colored his paws.

Later the kids opened the door to the wolf. He ate them. Just one of them hid very well.

When the goat returned she saw all. She and her one kid saved other kids. They were happy.

Literature. Part seventy.

                                                  "The Golden Goose" by the Brothers Grimm.

Once upon a time there was a man. He had three sons. The eldest and the middle sons were clever. The youngest had a nickname Dummling. Because he was a stupid person.

His brothers visited a forest. Their mother gave them some food and beverage. The eldest brother met an old man in the forest. This person asked him for some food and beverage for him. But the eldest brother refused him. He had an unlucky situation in this visit.

Later the second son visited the forest. He had some food and beverage, too. Middle brother met the old man. He asked him for some food and beverage. But Dummling's brother refused the old man. He had an unlucky situation, as well.

When the youngest brother visited the forest he met the old man, too. Dummling gave some food and beverage  to him.

Later he found the golden goose in the forest. The old man helped Dummling with it.

With this treasure he went to the hotel. In that place Dummling met three sisters. They all touched the golden goosed. As a result hotel master's daughters stuck to him. 

Dummling went with them. On the way several men added to them.

They all went to the city. King wanted to listen to his daughter's laugh. If a person can make her laugh, he can marry her. When she saw the golden goose and people around him she laughed.

The king came up with different tasks for Dummling. The old man helped him.

So, Dummling got married and inherited the throne.

Literature. Part sixty six.

                                       "The Fisherman and His Wife" by the Brothers Grimm.

There was one upon a time a fisherman and his wife. They were living in a dirty house.

One day the fisherman found a fairy fish. It was an enchanted prince. He let this fish go.

But his wife became angry. She wanted to have a comfortable cottage. 

So, her husband visited the fairy fish again. The fisherman saw his wife in a new house.

Later she wanted to have a castle. The fisherman went to the sea and asked  the enchanted prince about a castle.

The fairy fish fulfilled this wish. Because he saw his wife in a beautiful castle.

Next day the fisherman's wife decided to become a king. She said it.

Her husband said it to a prince. So, she became a king.

One day the king saw a pope. She wanted to become a pope.

The fisherman asked the fairy fish. Husband saw his wife as a pope.

But this role was boring for the stupid woman. So, she wanted to become a lord.

The fisherman went to the seaside and saw dark clouds and worried sea. The prince sent him home.

The fisherman saw his wife in a dirty house.

This fairy tale was translated to different languages. There are many movies and cartoons about this story.

Great people: Brothers Grimm.

Jacob Ludwig Karl Grimm was born on January 4, 1785 in the Holy Roman Empire. Wilhelm Karl Grimm was born on February 24, 1786 in the Holy Roman Empire.


The brothers Grimm were German writers and philologists. They wrote a lot of famous fairy tales, such as: "Hansel and Gretel", "Rapunzel", "Snow White", "Town Musicians of Bremen", "Sleeping Beaty", and etc. The Grimms' books were translated to many different languages.

There are a lot of movies and cartoons with their characters.


Jacob Luwig Karl Grimm died on September 20, 1863 in the German Confederation. Wilhelm Karl Grimm died on December 16, 1859 in the German Confederation.

Literature. Part forty two.

                                                    "Hansel and Gretel" by the Brothers Grimm.

Hansel and Gretel were little siblings. Their father was a poor woodcutter. Also, brother and sister had a stepmother.

Once upon a time father's wife sent hungry children to the forest. After several hard situations Hansel and Gretel found a gingerbread house. They were very glad!

Children met a witch who wanted to eat them. She gave them food.

At the end Hansel and Gretel got rid of the witch with their cunning. Also, siblings found pearls in the gingerbread house.

Their stepmother died and father was very happy to see children again.

Literature. Part thirty seven.

                                  "Town Musicians of Bremen" by the Brothers Grimm.

Once upon a time donkey dicided to go to Bremen city. He wanted to become a micisian. On the way donkey met a dog.

So, animals went together to Bremen. Some time later the donkey and dog met a cat. This animal wanted to become a town musician of Bremen and joined to them.

At the end the donkey, the dog, and the cat met a farm rooster. He wanted to run away from his farmer.

In the evening animals saw a house in the forest. Friends were very tired and hungry. Donkey saw robbers there. They wanted to scare them away. Animals stood on top of each other.

Robbers run away from the forest. Donkey, dog, cat, and rooster lived in this place.

Literature. Part twenty eight.

                                           "Rapunzel" by the Brothers Grimm.

Once upon a time young woman became pregnant. Not far from her house, a witch lived. She had her own garden with tasty plants named rampions.

Pregnant woman wanted to eat these plants. So, her husband given a lot of rampions. Witch asked to give their baby.

She was a girl named Rapunzel. Rapunzel lived in high tower without doors and had blonde and long hair.

Girl met handsome prince. But witch was very angry about this. She cut Rapunzel's hair. Evil witch left girl in forest.

Witch lied to prince and he fell out from high tower and became blind. But suddenly... he heard Rapunzel's voice. She had twins boy and girl. Rapunzel cried and her tears gave eyes to prince.

So, they went to the kingdom and live there long and happy.

                                     "Sleeping Beauty" by Brothers Grimm.

King and Queen had a baby daughter. A witch said that she will get pricked a needle. Fifteen years later princess really had an injury with a needle.

Girl slept for many years. One day prince kissed her lips and princess woke up.

Literauture. Part twenty two.

                             "Little Red Riding Hood" by Brothers Grimm.

In one house, a little girl lived with her mother. She always wore her red cap. That's why she was called Little Red Riding Hood.

Once upon a time mother asked her daughter to take food to grandmother. Granny's house was situated in the forest.

Little Red Riding Hood went to her grandmother. Suddenly she meth the wolf. He asked where was she going? She answered. So the wolf went to granny and ate her. He wore grandmother's clothes.

When Little Red Riding Hood went to her granny she began to ask why she has big body parts? At the end he ate  Little Red Riding Hood, too.

Some time later hunters rescued granny and Little Red Riding Hood.

Literature. Part five.

My favourite fairy tale is Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs by Brothers Grimm.

I like this fairy tale because in it a kind wins evil. Main character a young girl Snow White has a father and jealous stepmother. Woman has the magic mirror which says the evil Queen that girl more beautiful than she.

Stepmother wants to kill her stepdaughter but has failed. After this the girl was living with Seven Dwarfs in a house that stood in the forest. The magic mirror still told to Queen that princess Snow White more beautiful than she.

Evil woman wanted to become better than her stepdaughter. She again tried to kill Snow White. At last when envious given to girl a poisoned apple. She ate it and died.

The magic mirror said that Queen the most beautiful. Jealous stepmother was very glad.

When the Seven Dwarfs returned to home they were sad about Snow White's death. They laid her in a glass coffin.

But once upon a time prince who travelled not far from the Seven Dwarfs' house, he saw princess in coffin. When young man kissed a beautiful girl she opened her eyes, evil magic was gone.

Some time later prince and princess were married and lived long and happy!
