                                       "The Twelve Brothers" by the Brothers Grimm.

Once upon a time there were a husband and wife, who were a king and Queen. They had twelve sons.

The king decided if his wife gives birth to a daughter, then all the boys must die.

The queen told the youngest son Benjamin, that he and his brothers would go to the forest to live.

Then the boys had a sister and they stayed to live in the forest.

Several years later the girl knew about her twelve brothers. Mother said that she didn't know where they were.

The sister found her brothers' house in the forest. Everyone was happy with this meeting.

Once a sister picked twelve lilies in the garden, and her twelve brothers turned into twelve ravens.

To save her brothers, the sister didn't say a word or laugh for seven years.

During this time, she married the king. His stepmother wanted to kill her. But the brothers saved their sister.

Tales from childhood: A new teacher in the school.

Mrs. M. had an education. She was a teacher. Lara's stepmother studied in a college for several years. People said that she was a good student.

"Mrs. M. studied very well," said her mate.

This woman decided to work in Sophie's school.

She studied children read, write, and count. Also, Mrs. M. explained to the little pupils how to behave.

Children, parents, and other teachers were happy to have such a good teacher.

                                                 Wives and Daughter, An Every-Day Story by Elizabeth Gaskell.

Molly Gibson was the only child in the family. Her father Dr. Gibson was widowed.

Little Molly visited the local aristocratic mansion. Then she was given to governess Clare. But she didn't want to care for Molly. So, Dr. Gibson took his daughter home.

Seven years later Molly Gibson became a young woman. She was kind and closed. Mr. Coxe was her father's student, he was in love with Molly.

Also, she met with rich family. Molly befriended Rodger.

Dr. Gibson decided to marry a second time. He chose Clare for his wife. Molly tried to love her stepmother. Also, she had a new stepsister named Cynthia.

The characters of the novel experience different emotions. They visited many places, had connections, have had love, and secrets.

Tales from childhood: Useful day.

 "You must care about the place you live," the school teacher said.

Little Sophie thought about these words for a long time. Indeed, the place where a person lives should be important for them.

Over the weekend Mrs. M. suggested that those who wanted to go to the beach, could go check it out. If necessary, then put the beach in order.

Sophie decided to go there. She wanted to support this idea and take care of this place.

On the beach they collected thrashes. Sophie and the others felt proud!

"Well done!" Mrs. M. said.

"I'm very proud of you!" Sophie's mother said.

Sophie has done a really important job!

Tales from childhood: Christmas holiday.

 It was a very important day for Sophie. She wanted to celebrate Christmas with her friends. 

Lara's stepmother decided to throw a party for children and their friends. She began to prepare for this event in advance. Sophie and Natalie were invited to this party.

In the morning, all the guests gathered in a cozy apartment. Santa Claus was guest, too. Children received gifts.

Little Sophie liked the way the apartment was decorated.

"I will remember this Christmas," Sophie said to Natalie.

"Me too," Natalie said.

Lara had a soft toy. She was happy in this day just like the other children.

Sophie remembered this Christmas with warmness.

This holiday was nice for children. Everyone was happy and contented.

Tales from childhood: This or that.

 Sophie liked very different games. Sometimes she played alone with her toys. Then she came up with the rules for her own games. Or she played with her friends. It depended on her mood.

But one day children played in the yard. They rehearsed the play. Little Lara didn't want to listen Sophie's words. It was very unpleasant for her. Some little girl won't let her play.

Suddenly Beth and Lara's stepmother appeared from the corner. The young woman was with her children.

"Must play all together or no one," the stepmother said.

Lara went in her thoughts. She made a mistake. Little Lara had to listen to Sophie. Her stepmother was right in this moment.

Sophie decided to play alone. She played in a game with her own rules.

Lara caught the young woman's stern gaze and considered her behavior. Beth supported Lara's stepmother.

Tales from childhood: How to solve problems.

 Little Sophie often listened to the opinions of adults. Many teachers in the school were her authorities. Usually the thoughts and words of the mother and granny coincided with the opinions of the class teacher.

But this happened. Lara's stepmother was a kind woman and good example for different children. 

Her husband had a friend. This man had a hard situation. His wife and children left him.

Some people scolded this man. They were sure that he did unpleasant things to his family. Also, people had a bad opinion about Lara's father. he left his wife and daughter.

"I understand you," said Lara's father.

"Thanks for your support," said his friend.

The stepmother had her own opinion, too. But she didn't say it.

"Every person must resolve his problems," the woman said.

These words Sophie heard in the yard. At the moment children played with each other. They had a problem.

Sophie understood that some people didn't want to say their opinion. Maybe it's better.

Tales from childhood: Important qualities.

 Lara's father was a strange man. He did many strange things. When little Sophie saw him she had these thoughts. It was Sophie's opinion.

His new wife was a very good person. She was often used as an example to his ex-wife. Since early childhood the girls were competitors. Lara's stepmother had good qualities for a successful life.

During school years she visited sport section. Also, her grades were very good.

"Look how well she does everything!" said teachers and parents.

These words really hurt Lara's mother. So, she didn't like her. Sometime they were just neighbors. Later the girls became classmates. It only increased the competition between them.

But when Sophie and Natalie talked with Lara's stepmother, they understood several things. This young woman knew how to listen to other people. She never interrupted anyone.

The woman with wrinkles around the eyes. These lines only appeared when she was smiling and laughing. Lara's stepmother had a good sense of humor.

Little Sophie and her best friend Natalie liked her for generosity. The kind woman treated children in the yard and their friends for every holiday.

Stepmother gave gifts for her stepdaughter. On Christmas she knitted a warm sweater for Lara.

Sophie thought that maybe the husband loves his wife precisely for these qualities.

Tales from childhood: New questions.

Natalie lived in a new house with many apartments. Just several days ago she understood one thing. On her floor, in neighborhood apartment lived Lara's father with his new family. She moved in this place, before Natalie lived in another street.

So, Natalie decided to tell Sophie about it. She chose a simple walk in the park.

"I want to share my secret with you. I know Lara's "other" relatives," Natalie said.

"Wow! I want to listen to you," Sophie said with curiosity.

"Lara's father, his wife, and his children are my neighbors. They are live in front of my apartment." Natalie said.

Sophie remembered that woman. She was very good and kind. Little Sophie didn't want to think bad things about her family. Maybe to know this woman better?

Natalie didn't know her well, but she wanted. Also, Sophie's friend heard different words about this mysterious woman.

Little Sophie supported her best friend. So, they decided to met Lara's stepmother together. Sophie and Natalie had a great plan for it.

Granny, Sophie, and Natalie walked in another yard. It was Natalie's new house. Friends waited for this woman.

She appeared from the trees. The woman walked with her little children. Sophie noticed her kind eyes. Lara's stepmother had a good mood. Little Sophie and Natalie wanted to talk to her.

"Good Morning, Mrs. M.," Natalie said with a smile.

"Good Morning, children! How are you, today?" asked stepmother named Mrs. M.

"I'm fine thank you. Now is a nice weather! This is my best friend Sophie," Natalie replied.

"Nice to meet you!" Mrs. M. said and gave a handshake to Sophie.

Little Sophie and Natalie watched this woman. They wanted to know her better.

On this day Mrs. M. plant several threes in the yard. Sophie and Natalie decided to participate in this deal. Other people helped them, too.

It was a good example for children. Sophie and Natalie had a nice practice. Stepmother made this very good.

Lara's stepmother was kind. Sophie thought about it for a long time. She thought: "Maybe stepmothers are evil only in the fairy tales?"

Tales from childhood: Mother and stepmother.

Sophie liked different fairy tales. Her granny often read these famous works before sleep. Artists created bright illustrations in the books. Also, little Sophie watched cartoons and movies about fantasy strories.

She often imagined that she became a princess. Sophie noticed that in fairy tales there are many evil stepmothers. But she understood that they were just fairy tales.

Lara had mother and stepmother. Her mother was very loud woman. She said stupid words to her father. Little Lara knew about these phrases. She repeated them.

Grandfather blabbed about Lara's father. But she didn't worry. Granddad was very important for her.

Sophie and Natalie noticed that stepmother is a good mother. She never yelled at her children. The woman was polite and shy. She patiently explained everything, answered every question of her son and daughter.

Mom scolded Lara for eating chocolate. Her shouting could be heard whole street. It was humiliating moment for a little Lara. All children like sweets.

Lara walked with her grandfather on the bridge. Sophie and her friend Natalie walked there, too. They saw a young woman with children. The boy and the girl were sitting in a baby carriage.

Grandpa became sad. He had face as several years ago, when his daughter cried. Perhaps the woman knew everything. Sophie wanted to laugh.

Natalie saw duck with ducklings.

"This is so cute," Natalie said.

"Yes, it's very pretty," Sophie supported the conversation.

The stepmother smiled at this moment. It was nice to see how little ducks swim with their mother. Her children were glad, too. Maybe Lara didn't know that this woman was her stepmother.

On Friday evening Sophie saw Lara's father. He talked by payphone.

"I love you very much! You're very kind and funny. Wait for me!" he said.

Little Sophie couldn't understand many things in this life. Father left his daughter. It's strange for her.

Next day Sophie saw how this man kissed Lara's brother and sister.

Literature. Part forty two.

                                                    "Hansel and Gretel" by the Brothers Grimm.

Hansel and Gretel were little siblings. Their father was a poor woodcutter. Also, brother and sister had a stepmother.

Once upon a time father's wife sent hungry children to the forest. After several hard situations Hansel and Gretel found a gingerbread house. They were very glad!

Children met a witch who wanted to eat them. She gave them food.

At the end Hansel and Gretel got rid of the witch with their cunning. Also, siblings found pearls in the gingerbread house.

Their stepmother died and father was very happy to see children again.

Literature. Part five.

My favourite fairy tale is Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs by Brothers Grimm.

I like this fairy tale because in it a kind wins evil. Main character a young girl Snow White has a father and jealous stepmother. Woman has the magic mirror which says the evil Queen that girl more beautiful than she.

Stepmother wants to kill her stepdaughter but has failed. After this the girl was living with Seven Dwarfs in a house that stood in the forest. The magic mirror still told to Queen that princess Snow White more beautiful than she.

Evil woman wanted to become better than her stepdaughter. She again tried to kill Snow White. At last when envious given to girl a poisoned apple. She ate it and died.

The magic mirror said that Queen the most beautiful. Jealous stepmother was very glad.

When the Seven Dwarfs returned to home they were sad about Snow White's death. They laid her in a glass coffin.

But once upon a time prince who travelled not far from the Seven Dwarfs' house, he saw princess in coffin. When young man kissed a beautiful girl she opened her eyes, evil magic was gone.

Some time later prince and princess were married and lived long and happy!

Literature. Part one.

                 Cinderella, or the little glass slipper by Charles Perrault.

Once upon a time was gentleman who married, for his second wife. This woman was the proudesr. She had two daughters of her own behavior. Man had a daughter from his first wife, she was very like of her mother, good and sweet.

So girl lived with father, stepmother, and two stepsisters. Her evil stepmom made her do very dirty work in the house. Wash the dishes, iron her dresses, sew clothes... etc.

This girl lived in the chimney-corner, and sit down among cinders. So all called her Cinderella.

Once day king's son gave a ball in the palace and invited all people in his kingdom.

Cinderella very wanted go to the ball, but her evil stepmother gave the girl many work in the house. Her father, stepmom, and two stepsisters went away to the ball.

Girl stays at home and began cry. She heared her fairy godmother, and came to her.

She said that Cinderella earned go to the ball, Kind fairy convern: pumpkin-the coach, mice-horses, rat-coachman, lizards-footmen. Girl's old dress in clothes with gold and silver colors and jewellery. Her wood shoes-the little glass slippers.

Fairy godmother commanded her not to stay till after midnight. Simple all disapper. At the ball Cinderella wa very good and beautiful that her own stepsisters unregnizable her. King's son, young prince fall-in-love in a beautiful girl.

After midnight Cinderella went away from ball and lost her glass slipper. At home her sisters were talking her about beautiful girl at the ball. Through several days king gave a promise that girl whom fit a glass slipper became his son's wife.

All of girls did not fit a little glass slipper, even Cinderella's stepsisters. But then poor girl wear a glass slipper, she was very happy. Appeared her godmother and touched to her dress and it became very beautiful. So Cinderella became a princess.
