Tales from childhood: Surprise.

"It's very cold now! So, you need to dress warmly." my granny said.

Yes, the weather is really cold this year. There is still a lot of snow everywhere. This is perfect for the holidays.

I went outside wearing several sweaters, a hat, boots, and a fur coat. I like Christmas!

"Good morning Sophie!" my friend Natalie said.

"Hi!" I said with a smile.

"I heard that a girl named Angela woke up in the hospital after a long sleep. Last year, that's exactly what I wished for." Natalie said.

"I want to meet her," I asked Natalie.

Then we went to the hospital and saw a teenage girl who was sleeping a lot. We used to visit Angela.

The girl sat in bed and talked to the doctor. It was a real gift for us.

Tales from childhood: Antique toys.

"I have a teddy bear that my grandmother gave me!" Natalie said.

Then she proudly showed the old toy. The teddy bear really looked old because it had been played with a lot. Also, the little bear was dressed in a costume of that time.

"First, my granny gave this toy to my Mom, and my mother gave the teddy bear to me." Natalie added.

Sophie and her friends were already big, so they didn't play with toys much anymore. Teenagers gave them to relatives and friends. In those families, small children played with toys.

One day, Sophie and her classmates went on an excursion to the toy museum. There they saw toys from the century before last and antique dolls, too.

Tales from childhood: Lady in red and her secrets.

Timothy was still seeing this woman. Perhaps no one knew her name. She got her nickname because she often wore red clothes.

Sophie called this woman by her nickname, too.

"Granny, maybe the lady in red has some secrets?" Sophie asked.

"Anything is possible." grandmother said.

Her name was unknown. Woman in red had a lot of different work. Some of her friends knew lady's name. Bur for other people it was a secret.

"Yes, yes" the woman answered.

Her work was very interesting. The lady in red talked with people on the phone. She supported them during difficult time.

"These people very necessary for our society" Sophie's granny said.

Tales from childhood: Why was Angela independent?

Angela was a shy girl. She did many different things by herself because Angela's parents had a lot of work. They were very busy people.

Sometimes Angela was a good example for other children. She did on her own what others did with their parents. Also, Angela helped Maria with things.

"When Angela grows up, life will be easy for her." Sophie's granny said.

Sophie realized that when children are independent from an early age, it helps a lot in the future.

"In my childhood many children were like Angela," the old woman added.

Tales from childhood: The first meet.

It was an early morning. Timothy walked with neighborhood dog. Suddenly he saw a young woman in red clothes. She had a dog, too.

"Good morning, lady in red!" Timothy said with a smile.

"Hi, young man!" woman in red said.

That's how they met.

That morning, the lady in red was returning from work after a night shift. And she decided to walk a puppy.

Then Timothy began to often call this woman on the phone, also, they went to visit. She was able to understand him. The young man even told the lady in red about his life, about how his wife left him alone.

"It's good to have such a woman next to Timothy." Sophie's granny said.

Raymond was overjoyed for his friend, too.

Tales from childhood: Timothy's events.

Timothy loved alone in the apartment. His wife left left him there, after what happened to him. Timothy lived in this apartment, and his sister lived on the next street.

He enjoyed the freedom in this place, he did what he wanted, invited different people, came when it was convenient for him.

"You're so funny again!" Raymond said.

"Yesterday I had a good rest. I invited guests who accepted my appearance, they were cheerful women." Timothy said.

"You be careful with them. And with fun, too." Raymond said.

"Yes, sometimes I laugh too loudly." Timothy said.

Once Timothy came to visit Raymond and decided to stay there for a few days.

Raymond and Maria had a serious talk with him during those days.

Timothy complained about other things they might never understand.

"I hope Timothy is doing well." Mrs. Anne said.

"I hope for this, too." Sophie's granny said.

Tales from childhood: Timothy's life.

Timothy continued to live after what happened to him. Perhaps he was supported by his sister and her family. The young man felt confident near them.

"You can walk outside without an iron mask," Raymond said.

"Yes, you're right, I will" Timothy said.

So, Timothy went on the street with his uglified face. He walked in the yard where children were.

"Look at this man!" Lara screamed.

Others simply looked at Timothy.

"Grandma, why did Lara scream when she saw a man without face?" Sophie asked.

"You know, Sophie, there are people who are well-bred and there are not. Lara is uneducated." granny answered.

The surrounding people reacted differently, but no one knew how Timothy himself felt.

Tales from childhood: People and family.

Sophie knew many people. They all were very different.

She was surprised that one girl lived with her uncle, Raymond. It turns out that this man had a wife and son. In this family, everything suited everyone.

Also, his wife Maria had a younger brother. He was a simple young man, Timothy. Her brother worked at the factory. His work was quite hard.

Timothy has already managed his own family. He had a wife and a one-year-old daughter. These families interacted frequently.

Sophie and her friends talked with Raymond's niece from this family who was eight years old. This child was very independent for her age. She always made her own decisions.

Timothy was both a relative and a friend of this family. Raymond was friends with him. Timothy supported people in different situations.

"You can take an example from such people," Sophie's granny said.

Tales from childhood: Try it.

Sophie wanted to visit a new cafe. She heard from her friends that they served food. So, little Sophie waited the day of visit.

Her granny visited the new cafe, too. At first they thought the new place was cozy. Grandmother and granddaughter sat at the table.

"Interesting place!" Sophie said.

"Yes," granny said.

But when the food was brought to them, it wasn't so tasty.

After that, Sophie realized that everything happens in life, so you shouldn't expect too much.

“I think we should support Mrs. M. collect these badges,” Sophie said.

“Cool idea!” Sophie’s granny said.

Sophie, if she saw badges, she immediately took them.

Tales from childhood: A walk with granny.

Sophie and her grandmother decided to walk on the beach. It was a sunny day. Little Sophie wore pink dress and hat.

When they went in the bridge, the wind was blowing. It was a pleasant warm breeze. Sophie's hat flew off her head. The hat flew several meters and ended up on the fence.

"Be careful!" granny said.

"Ha-ha-ha!" Sophie laughed.

Sophie put on her hat and they went on for a walk.

Tales from childhood: Fall harvest.

Every fall in the village people were harvesting fruits and vegetables. Sophie liked a lot of them. Sometimes there were so many tomatoes that these vegetables were handed out to neighbors. Vegetables were very big. It was hard for Sophie to carry them. The weight of one tomato was 600 grams!

Sometimes there were so many tomatoes that these vegetables were handed out to neighbors. Sophie's granny shared with people. And the neighbors shared with them, too.

"It's good that we have a big harvest," Sophie said.

"Yes, it's very good." the grandmother said.

Little Sophie was proud that she could share vegetables with others, but she didn't tell anyone about it.

People received great joy when they gave and received as a gift fruits and/or vegetables.

Red ripe tomatoes, strawberries and other berries, potatoes in the ground, orange carrots, cherries on the tree. Sophie saw this ripe harvest. Also, there were butterflies, beetles, warms, and even birds in the garden. She watched this , because it was interesting!

All this grew in the garden of Sophie and her grandmother.

Tales from childhood: Funny jokes.

Sophie became a teenager. She did many different serious things. Sophie cooked dinners with her grandmother and watered flowers. When she was little she only played.

Also, several years ago little Sophie liked watch movies with stupid moments. She was sure that these jokes are funny and cool. Now if Sophie watched it she understood that these moments were very stupid. Mom and granny said that, too.

Sophie was interested in some TV shows. She watched some of them with her mother. On other programs, grandmother said that they shouldn't watch it. Mom agreed with her.

Little Sophie couldn't understand why the family said that it wasn't necessary to watch.

"Sometimes adults say that we shouldn't watch certain movies," Sophie said to Natalie.

"What if these movies and TV shows are really not so interesting? I somehow looked at one stupid movie myself and was disappointed." Natalie said.

Sophie considered the words of her friend. Maybe some programs are really not watching?

Tales from childhood: Trip to a new forest.

Sophie and her granny decided to go to their neighboring town. It was a cool idea! This place had many things for them.

"We went to the forest in the town," grandmother said.

"I'm very glad about it!" little Sophie said.

It was quite interesting there, they explored new places in the forest. The forest in Sophie's town was different. But there were some similar things. The trees were of a different kind. The lake was quite far away. The birds sang as beautifully as in the forest of Sophie's town.

Also, Sophie and her grandmother met people from the town. They told them funny stories. Little Sophie and granny were laughing.

Then they said goodbye and went home.

"It's good that I met such people!" Sophie thought.

She wrote an essay about this trip.

Tales from childhood: Different opinions.

Beth talked with many people. Because she prepared for her future work. It was very important for Beth's profession.

So, she met one girl who was very independent. At the age of sixteen, she already had a stable income! This girl was very proud of herself.

Afterwards, Beth found out that she had a difficult childhood. Her parents didn't pay attention to her, and she grew up very independent. Plus, she matured early.

Beth told about it to her brother Johnny and her friend Sophie. They were surprised. It was a good example for them.

"That girl is a good person!" Sophie said to grandmother.

Granny agreed with little Sophie. Also, she said about one boy in the yard.

"There are parents who didn't buy shoes for their son," granny said.

Really, in the yard there was a boy. His father didn't buy things for him. He thought about other people.

Sophie decided that this situation very strange! Why parents didn't pay attention to their children!?
