Sphinx.

Sphinx is a mythical creature. Her parents were Typhon and Chimera. She had a human head, an eagle's wings, a bull's tail, as well as a torso and paws of lion.

This creature exists in other mythologies, too. Sphinx is a mythological hybrid. Lernaean Hydra is Sphinx's relative.

There are many paintings and statues of Sphinx. In Ancient Greece this creature was a character of legend about Oedipus.

Tales from childhood: A holiday dinner.

It was a holiday. Little Sophie and her mother went to the shop. They bought a lot of delicious types of food, such as: chocolate, cookies, waffles, cakes, and candy. Sophie chose her favorite dishes. She wanted to eat them very much!

In the kitchen granny made tea for a holiday dinner. The girl started eating her favorite sweets. Mommy warned child about sickness. But Sophie didn't want to hear it. Child ate almost all new food.

Next day little Sophie woke up with stomach ache. Also, she felt weak. Suddenly Sophie remembered mother's words. Mommy warned her daughter.

Sophie laid in the bed during all day. Child understood that we shouldn't eat too much foods. If even they are delicious and favorite.

Fashion.

Fashion often changes. It doesn't stand still. Fashion influences many things of its time.

Colors, clothes, arts, make up, shoes, and even lifestyle are parts of the fashion. Building styles, such as: Baroque, Rococo, Gothic, and ect. These were popular fashion styles for their periods. But time is changing, fashion is changing, too.

During history people had different types of clothes. Also, climate and weather were influences for it. On was replaced by another.

Sometimes a fashion may come back. Old names. jewelry, or symbols can appear again. Different things affect fashion.

This industry continues today.

Typhon.

Typhon or Typhoeus was a monster in Greek mythology. His parents were Gaia and Tartarus.

The creature had many dragon heads, human body, and snake heads on his shoulders. Typhoeus was the father of different mythical monsters, such as: Chimera, Nemean Lion, Lernaean Hydra, and etc. Heracles killed some of them.

Typhoeus was mentioned in the legends. He met with Zeus and other characters. There are many paintings of this creature.

Tales from childhood: Mother.

Sophie's mother worked very long. But when she had free time and holidays she always paid attention to her daughter. Mother and daughter visited cafe, shops, and yard together. Sophie loved her Mom!

Little Lara had another situation. Lara's mother worked very often, too. But she not always walked with her daughter. Grandfather walked with Lara during holidays. Also, Lara visited full day kindergarten. Very rarely, the mother took the child.

Sophie and Lara played together. When Lara's mother was in the yard she used the mobile phone. Young woman wore very beautiful dresses and skirts.

If Lara said stupid things or something else, Sophie didn't pay attention. Because she was older and wiser.

Great people: Hippocrates.

Hippocrates of Kos or Hippocrates II was a scientist in Ancient Greece. He was born in c. 460 B. C. His father was Heraclides.


Philosopler studied medicine during the Classical Greek era. Hippocrates wrote about this science. He did many important things for medicine. Also, scientist was known as The Father of Western Medicine. Hippocratic Oath is a doctor's oath.


Greek scientist studied phycics, philosophy, and writing, too. Hippocrates started treating diseases. Plato and Aristotle wrote about this doctor.


Hippocrates died in c. 370 B. C.

                                    The Adventures of the Little Onion by Gianni Rodari.

Little Onion or Cipollino is the main character of this book. He had several friends: Pear, Zucchini, Blueberry, Parsley, Strawberry, and Cherry.

Cipolone Cipollino's father was arrested. Because he stepped on the king's leg by accident. The Little Onion visited his father in jail.

Fruits and vegetables had conflicts with each other. Yellow Lemon was the king. Tomato was an evil and selfish person. Countesses Cherries were very rich and owned several houses. Also, they had a nephew who be friended Cipollino.

At the end Little Onion and his friends won Lemon and Tomato.

This book describes relations between the rich and the poor, freedom and rules.

There are cartoons and movies about this story. This literary work was translated to other languages.
