Tales from childhood: Our educators.

Hi, readers! I'm just a resident of the orphanage where Maria and Timothy live. I'm their good friend. The three of us have a great time together, and no one says anything to us. It helps us orphans cope with loneliness.

We have teachers and educators, but these adults are very indifferent to us. For example, one woman, a young woman, often told us about her eight-year-old son, who was often sick. This child spent a month every two months on sick leave with his mother.

"My child needs me, he has a high fever and hospitalized! Now he needs me more than you troubled teenagers!" the teacher said these words every time.

At such moments, Maria remained in charge, but Timothy and I were able to afford to leave the orphanage.

The other teachers didn't react to our behavior. But one day, an old security guard caught us and wouldn't let us outside. Maybe that was for the best, because it was very cold out there!

Tales from childhood: My first love.

Hello everyone! It's Timothy again. I want to tell you a story from my youth.

I was about 18 years old then. I fell in love with my teacher's daughter. This girl was only two months older than me. She had a very beautiful figure.

"Good morning!" I told her these words for the first time with a smile.

"Hello blondie!" she told me and waved her hand.

She might not even know my name, and I don't remember the name of my first love either.

I planned to meet her when all the adults had left and we could talk calmly. I was embarrassed then! She was the first girl I liked. She lived next room.

One day, completely by accident, I saw a girl through the crack in her room door... I saw her... I saw my first love sleeping. She was wearing only a nightgown.

I may have stood there for a few minutes, enjoying looking at my love. Then suddenly she turned around and I saw her true beauty.

"What are you doing here?" her friend asked me.

"Hm... I was just passing by," I answered with excitement.

Here my first love woke up and apparently already understood everything.

"How dare you!" she screamed.

Also, she slapped me on the left cheek, then on the right. Then I got a few more hard slaps.

"Serves you right, you deserve it!" said her friend.

That's how my first love ended. Several years later I moved out and married my now ex-wife.

Tales from childhood: Garden in the village.

"Today we will write an essay about your favorite place." the teacher said.

Sophie remembered how they visited garden with different trees, flowers, and bushes. It was in the village. She, Natalie, and Angela were there because a woman invited the girls.

"Here you can look at plants and animals," the woman said.

Sophie described her emotions. But the teacher didn't attach much importance to this. Then Sophie returned to this place and again enjoyed the garden in the village.

Tales from childhood: Why old friends are so important?

"Old friend is better than new friends." Sophie's teacher said.

"I wonder what the teacher meant?" Sophie thought.

"This means that the person you have known for a long time is a proven person." Natalie said.

It really was so Sophie knew that strangers shouldn't talk about their own secrets.

Tales from childhood: Different sides of person.

On that day Sophie's teacher didn't visit the school. So, the lesson was taught by another teacher. She worked there for many years.

The children had to learn the verse at home and recite it at school.

"Students, let's read the verse!" the older teacher said and looked at Kate.

"Come on, you answer." the teacher said.

"I didn't learn the verse." Kate said.

"Badly." the teacher said.

"Can you answer your homework?" the older teacher said and looked at Anne.

"I forgot about my homework." Anne said as she lowered her eyes.

Sophie and some of the other students recited the verse well or not.

The next day, the teacher and students discussed what happened.

"Those who didn't prepare their homework showed themselves on the bad side. Because this teacher has been working in our school for many years. Anne's brother is in tenth grade. She knows him. Some of your parents studied here, too." the teacher said.

After these words, many children really thought.

Tales from childhood: Useful work.

Now, Sophie studied in the middle school, so she had different interests.

"Today we go to clean the school yard." the teacher said.

This fall there were a lot of leaves, and after the winter they need to be removed.

Several years ago, Sophie made various crafts from bright fall leaves.

The teenagers did a good job.

"You are all great!" the teacher said.

Sophie was very proud of herself and her classmates.

Tales from childhood: A new teacher in the school.

Mrs. M. had an education. She was a teacher. Lara's stepmother studied in a college for several years. People said that she was a good student.

"Mrs. M. studied very well," said her mate.

This woman decided to work in Sophie's school.

She studied children read, write, and count. Also, Mrs. M. explained to the little pupils how to behave.

Children, parents, and other teachers were happy to have such a good teacher.

Tales from childhood: Decide yourself.

It was a Friday morning. Sophie went to school. Two days ago her teacher said that she won’t be on Friday. Little Sophie remembered about it.

When she entered the classroom, the children were talking loudly. There was no one in teacher’s place. The students felt free, they just wanted to have fun.

Suddenly, one boy who had problems with discipline said that they can go home because the head teacher let us go. Therefore, some children decided that this is actually the case. So, the whole class went to the locker room and there this boy told the nanny that the head teacher “let us go”. About more than half class went home.

Sophie looked at this all in thought. How can they just leave school lessons?

But only a few conscientious and responsible students decided to stay at school and study. Sophie was among them.

Another teacher came to the class and began to study with the children.

Meanwhile, the nanny decided to go to the head teacher and ask if she let this class go home.

“This boy told me that you let them go,” the nanny said.

The head teacher looked sternly, and then said:

“Did you come up to me? Did I let you go? What is this anyway?!  This is what a self- righteousness! After school lessons I’m waiting for you in my classroom.”

Sophie thought about it for a long time. At home she was praised for staying at school.

On Monday, when the teacher came at school, she found out everything. So, she took exercise books from those who left school on Friday and noted it for their parents. Also, the homeroom teacher said that leaving is just bad.

Tales from childhood: New buildings in the town.

Sophie lived in the suburb. Some people even called it a city. There you could get on a bus and get to the capital in ten minutes.

But the suburbanites were proud of what they had: parks, theatres, museums, cafes, and their own symbols. Little Sophie often saw her town in the school books. The history teacher would often tell the story of the suburb.

Sophie and her grandmother regularly went to parades and celebrations in the center of a small suburb.

One day, Sophie noticed that construction had begun.

"Grandma, look here are building new buildings," little Sophie said.

"Yes, new interesting places will soon be built here," granny said.

Three months later, beautiful buildings and symbols of the city appeared in the center of the suburb.

Once at school, the students and the teacher decided to discuss these new buildings. Sophie said that she liked it. Others liked them, too. Also, the teacher said that there are beautiful places in her village.

Tales from childhood: Festive poster.

The school asked to make a poster for an important holiday. Sophie had her own idea, but she didn't tell anyone.

At home, she took a large sheet of paper, pens, and pencils. Little Sophie drew beautiful landscape with sky and plants. She loved creative subjects. Sophie was very keen on the process that she forgot about everything.

Then she put her work in her school pack. Little Sophie was very proud of herself! This poster was important for her.

"Well done!" the teacher said.

She was glad that the teacher appreciate her work.

Tales from childhood: Discussion about important things.

"If you agree with something, then explain why you're sticking to it," the teacher said.

The children thought about these words for a long time. They had their own personal convictions, children's opinions varied on different issues.

Once Sophie read a story about how to act in a life situation. There people talked about their decision at that moment. With some she agreed, and with some she didn't, but little Sophie didn't condemn anyone.

Another girl decided to express her opinion in writing. She saw only one side of the situation.

People talked her that everything wasn't so one sided and asked for arguments about statements. Little girl had her own point of view, she didn't want to change it. Her arguments were opinion based.

But after a while, a more mature young woman explained everything to her. Also, she told the little girl how to argue and make arguments.

"How instructive that is." Sophie thought.

Now, before she says ore writes something, Sophie always asks adults.

Tales from childhood: Useful day.

"You must care about the place you live," the school teacher said.

Little Sophie thought about these words for a long time. Indeed, the place where a person lives should be important for them.

Over the weekend Mrs. M. suggested that those who wanted to go to the beach, could go check it out. If necessary, then put the beach in order.

Sophie decided to go there. She wanted to support this idea and take care of this place.

On the beach they collected thrashes. Sophie and the others felt proud!

"Well done!" Mrs. M. said.

"I'm very proud of you!" Sophie's mother said.

Sophie has done a really important job!

Tales from childhood: The cuckoo.

Sophie was a middle school student. On that day her class had a biology lesson. Teacher told about animals in the forest.

Children listened very carefully. The teacher told about birds.

"A cuckoo is a bird that tosses its eggs to other nests," the woman said.

Little Sophie pondered these words. Some other birds are taking care of the cuckoo chicks. And the mother leaves her cubs.

Homework was like this: watch the cuckoo and its new "family".

Sophie and her grandmother saw a large cuckoo chick and another small bird. These birds flew to them in the garden at their summer home for a week. It was interesting for little Sophie. A small bird was feeding a large cuckoo cub.

Sophie suddenly remembered how her mother had watched the TV program. Then she called one woman a "cuckoo" because she abandoned her child.

At school, Sophie talked about the cuckoo and his new "mother". It was a discovery for her. Strange things happened in life.

Tales from childhood: People.

Sophie and her family had a domestic telephone. Sometimes mother and granny called somebody.

Little Sophie talked with her classmates. Kids exchanged phone numbers between each other. It was very comfortable. If somebody forgot to write homework. Or if child was ill for a long time, then teacher called their family.

"I want to call Johnny. I want to know about next school excursion," Sophie said.

It was important call for her and her friend. At this moment Sophie understood that Johnny is near. When she heard his voice Sophie feel it.

She met Johnny in the school next day. He was close to little Sophie.

Tales from childhood: How to solve problems.

Little Sophie often listened to the opinions of adults. Many teachers in the school were her authorities. Usually the thoughts and words of the mother and granny coincided with the opinions of the class teacher.

But this happened. Lara's stepmother was a kind woman and good example for different children.

Her husband had a friend. This man had a hard situation. His wife and children left him.

Some people scolded this man. They were sure that he did unpleasant things to his family. Also, people had a bad opinion about Lara's father. he left his wife and daughter.

"I understand you," said Lara's father.

"Thanks for your support," said his friend.

The stepmother had her own opinion, too. But she didn't say it.

"Every person must resolve his problems," the woman said.

These words Sophie heard in the yard. At the moment children played with each other. They had a problem.

Sophie understood that some people didn't want to say their opinion. Maybe it's better.

Tales from childhood: Julia's life.

Sophie became a high school student. She met many different teachers in her school. They were unique. But school workers often talked about one girl.

"I had a good student," the history teacher said.

"It was several years ago. She was very active. This student often played in performances. Also, she was a volunteer before graduation," the teacher continued.

Little Sophie knew this girl. It was Julia. Children heard many good things about her.

"Julia's grades were high," the principal said.

At the same time, the teacher showed the children her own school notes. Everything was written in beautiful handwriting. The teachers and the principal were proud.

After school, Julia studied in college. There she met Anton and friends. But just Anton became Julia's best friend. Maybe their friendship was more than simple friendship.

Sophie and her classmates saw Julia. She went somewhere. Julia had a handbag. She called someone on her cell phone.

"Julia is an amazing young woman!" Beth admired.

Maybe she was a good example for Beth.

On the weekend Sophie saw Anton and Julia in the center of town. They walked together. At this moment little Sophie understood that someone is always an example for another person.

Tales from childhood: Our heroes!

Sophie felt the lights of a sun on her face. She woke up after a long sleep. Little Sophie thought about Victory Day.

It was a spring morning. Sophie went to school with red flowers. It was a gift for veterans.

“Give flowers to strange people! It’s strange!” a stupid boy said.

“These people gave a peace for us,” the teacher said.

Little Sophie and Johnny went to congratulate a veteran. This old woman worked in a school. She was short and her position was modest. But the veteran went through the whole war! She worked and fought.

“Congratulations!” the children said.

The school worker was very glad! It was important for her. She smiled.

During break time high school students cared for the veterans. Little Sophie and her classmates saw them in Assembly Hall.

Also, children told about their grandparents. Little Sophie was proud of her granny.

Next day Sophie visited a parade in her town.  She understood many serious things.

“I think that veterans accomplished a feat,” little Sophie said.

“Yes, it’s true,” Sophie’s mother said.

Tales from childhood: Strange thoughts.

Sophie was a good person. But she had strange aspects in her temper. Little Sophie couldn't listen to other people. She made conclusions very quickly.

It was a simple school day. Teacher said important words for students.

"You must listen to me with attention. Don't lose it!" she said.

On this day Sophie had a strange behavior. She was very tired. Little Sophie thought about her own things.

"Children, please bring some paper for handmade flowers," the school teacher said.

Sophie still thought about her dreams. She didn't pay attention to the teacher's speech.

"We will create beautiful paper roses and other flowers," the school teacher said.

But Sophie didn't listen to her words. She didn't understand entirely the teacher's words.

"You must create paper flowers at home. And bring your works," Sophie heard.

Little Sophie was very worried about it. During her way to home she thought for a long time.

"We must create paper flowers at home," Sophie said to her grandmother.

"You didn't understand your teacher. You must bring paper for handmade flowers. You'll create paper roses and other flowers in school," granny said.

Sophie was still worried. She decided to create a flower. Little Sophie didn't know that her grandmother called Johnny. He told her the truth.

Next day Sophie brought paper and one paper flower. She and her classmates created many beautiful works. The teacher praised Sophie for the paper flower made at home.

Now Sophie tried to listen carefully to other people's words. Because correct understanding is very important.

Tales from childhood: Family's main secret.

Sophie was at the elementary school prom. They celebrated this important event in the classroom. Little children had a concert with each other. Sophie and her classmates read and played many interesting scences. Also, they told poems and short stories about school and childhood. It was very nice!

At this moment little Sophie understood that she finished an important part of her life. She became more serious, wise, clever, and kind. Sophie didn't pay attention to stupid things and words of other children. Her teacher helped Sophie with it.

"My daughter must know the truth about her parents," Sophie's mother thought.

Little Sophie didn't know her father. Never. Granny and mother knew many different things about him. But it was secret for Sophie.

Lara's father worked and lived not far from his daughter. Nobody knew there is Sophie's parent.

"You must talk to my granddaughter," the grandmother said.

"I thought about it, too," the mother said.

The summer holiday started. Sophie and Natalie visited the centre of their city. They noticed Lara's father and stepmother. Little Sophie couldn't imagine that her father loved another woman. It would be very sad for her.

Granny went to the shop. Mother staid at home. Sophie had many nice impressions in the city. She went to her mother.

"Today is an amazing day. There are many people in the centre of our city," Sophie said.

"I want to talk to you," the mother said.

Little Sophie became serious. She wanted to know their family's main secret. What's happened with her father? Maybe he lived not far from his daughter?

"Your father was a very good person. I met him when I was a college student. He was a kind young man. We started being friends. But several months later I knew that he was a poor man. Despite that fact we loved each other. So, we decided to create a family together," the mother said with sad voice.

"What's happened later?" asked Sophie with curiosity.

"We got married. He loved me very much. Also, your father worked hard on his work. It was necessary for us. Soon you were born," the mother said.

Little Sophie was very glad to know something about her father. Now, she didn't worry.

"But two years later your father had a serious illness. Temperature of his body was very high. Also, your father coughed. I worried about it," the mother said with tempered voice.

"Please, say the truth," Sophie said with serious tone.

"Your father laid in the hospital. Doctors and nurses wanted to save him, but... he died. You were just three-years-old," the mother said with tears.

"Thank you for this story. I'll know about my dad. You're very brave," Sophie said.

Sophie wanted to cry at this moment. She set in the armchair and her eyes were fll with tears. Sophie tried to hide it from mother. And she felt herself better and knew truth about her father.

Granny knew about it, too. She didn't know how to say these words.
