Tales from childhood: Support in competition.

Mrs. M. was an active person. She could organize many different things. Also, Mrs. M. participated in various promotions and competitions.

This time, a well-known magazine announced that whoever collects the most badges will receive several soft toys.

“I think we should support Mrs. M. collect these badges,” Sophie said.

“Cool idea!” Sophie’s granny said.

Sophie, if she saw badges, she immediately took them.

Soon Mrs. M. and her family became the owner of a set of seven plush toys.

“Thank you all for your support!” Mrs. M. said.

Sophie was proud of herself, because she was involved in this.

Icarus.

Icarus (Ἴκαρος) was a son of Daedalus and Naucrate in Greek myths and legends.

His father Daedalus created two pairs of wings. He used wax and feathers. Icarus and Daedalus flew together on these wings.

Daedalus asked his son not to fly too close to the sun and the sea. They flew in the sky.

But suddenly Icarus forgot about father's words. He flew very high and the sun melted the wax on his wings. So, Icarus fell into the sea and drowned.

His body was buried by Heracles. Icarus was buried in Icaria (Ικαρία). The sea where he drowned was named the Icarian Sea (Icarus, Icarium mare) (᾽Ίκαρος, ᾽Ικάριον πέλαγος).

This myth became popular in different arts.
