Tales from childhood: A tour.

Accepted everyone who wanted to go on a vacation. Grandma gave permission. Sophie will be with Johnny and Beth. Mr. Theodor's children will travel, too.

Several teachers and students went by bus. After they visited a park and a restaurant. Little Sophie saw her morning city from the window. It was beautiful!

Children talked to each other in the bus. Little Sophie felt a good atmosphere around.

When they arrived to the park students noticed pretty flowers and green grass. Sophie and Johnny run on the path. Beth played with ball on the playgraound. Someone swung on the swing, someone rode down the hill.

Two hours later teachers and students rode the bus again. They arrived to the restaurant. Sophie and Beth ate strawberry ice cream. Also, all the children ate pizza with cheese. They drunk fruit juice.

At the end children returned to the school. Students had many impressions.

Sophie told her grandmother that she likes this vacation.

Chimera.

Chimera was a monster in Greek legends. Her parents were Typhoeus and Echidna. Cerberus and Lernaean Hydra were relatives.

She had the head and body of a lion. Also, Chimera had a snake tail and a goat head on the back.

There are many myths and legends about this monster. Statues and paintings of Chimera were created, too.

Tales from childhood: A serious holiday.

It was a normal spring day. Little Sophie and her classmates talked with their school teacher. The teacher said that children must prepare for tomorrow's holiday. They had homework: read several pages about war.

Next day a social studies teacher appeared in their classroom. Students listen to stories about battles and heroes. Sophie remembered her homework. Some details were written in the book! These stories sounds interesting.

On the third lesson an old man came to class. He had gray beard and cane. Also, children noticed that he had his several medals on his jacket.

Teacher said that this man is a war veteran. Sophie was very impressed!

The old man was sitting on a chair and telling real stories. Children listened to them with attention. Veteran told about enemies and weapons. How he worked during this hard period.

After students asked old man about war events. He answered to their questions. At the end the veteran received flowers and went to a concert. School teacher added that we must remember about war veterans.

At home Sophie understood teacher's words. People must remember important events.

Liechtenstein.

Liechtenstein is a European country. It situated between Switzerland and Astria. Vaduz is a capital of Principality of Leichtenstein. Official language is German.

This country has its own government and history. Area of Liechtenstein is 160 km2. The Alps are situated in this European country. Also, there are forests and fields. Principality of Liechtenstein has a temperate climate.

European microstate had own symbols, such as: flag, anthem, and emblem. Liechtenstein has its own culture. Castles and music are part of it.

Minotaur.

Minotaur was a mythical creature in Ancient Greece. He had a head and tail of a bull and the human body. Monster's parents were Cretan Bull and Pasiphaё.

Hero Theseus killed this creature. Minotaur met other characters from legends.

There are many paintings and statues of the monster and the Athenian hero Theseus.

Tales from childhood: New discoveries.

Sophie and Natalie played together very often. They had shared secrets and kept them from others. Also, girls played with Beth and Johnny. But Sophie trusted Natalie more.

Lara was another child. She couldn't play with big children. The girl liked personal games, too. Sophie didn't understand her. Lara had several friends from her kindergarten.

During holidays grandfather walked with Lara. The child played with other children. Little Sophie thought that their games are strange.

Once Beth said that Lara had a different upbringing and temper. Now Sophie understood Lara. This girl is different. But Sophie still trusted her best friend.

Great people: Aristotle.

Aristotle was born on 384 B. C. He was a philosopher in Ancient Greece. Aristotle was a student of Plato and teacher of Alexander, the Great. Philosopher had his own interests, such as: ethics, music, poetry, biology, logic, and etc.

Aristotle's period was the Classical period. Philosopher did many important things for the Western philosophy. He had different views on the things than other philosophers.

One of his ideas was Theory of the soul. Also, Aristotle wrote about sciences. The philosopher said wise aphorisms and his quotes are still known.

Aristotle died on 322 B. C.

Recipe of homemade cocoa beverage.

Ingrediets:

Milk-300 mL
Sugar-3 table spoons
Cocoa-1 table spoon
Cream-1 table spoon


Boil all ingredients.




Mix milk, sugar, cream, and cocoa during sevveral minutes. After you can lay beverage in cups and add cinnamon if you want.

Literature. Part fifty two.

                                                      Winnie-the-Pooh by A. A. Milne.

This book was written in 1926. It consists many short stories about animals. Main character is a teddy bear named Winnie-the-Pooh. He had friends, such as: Piglet (pig), Eeyorl (donkey), Owl, Rabbit, Kanga and her son Roo (kangaroo), and Tigger (tiger). They are different. Owl and Rabbit are live animals, other toys.

Christopher Robin is a young boy who be friends with Winnie-the-Pooh and other animals. Many different adventures happened with characters. They are situated in the forest.

There are many bright illustrations to this children's literature. Famous book was translated to many languages. Cartoons and movies were created about the teddy bear and other animals.
